Mediation

A structured, voluntary, confidential process in which disputing parties consent to meet to resolve their conflict with the help of an impartial third party.

The mediator works with the parties to help them identify issues, create options for settlement and focus on the future in order to find a solution satisfactory to all sides.

Arbitration

A trained, impartial, third party holds a confidential hearing with the disputing parties. Based on the facts and evidence presented, a legally binding award is rendered.

Conciliation

An informal process whereby a third party assists disputants in resolving their conflict but does not always bring the parties together.

Negotiation

The disputing parties meet, discuss and agree upon fact, question, demands and solutions; design their own solutions to problems.

Fact-Finding

An impartial third party studies the facts of the dispute and focuses on major issues. Findings with or without recommendations may or may not become public.

Facilitation

A third party or parties manages meetings and negotiations for various public and private agencies, labor groups and coalitions.

Training and Education

Communication, mediation, arbitration, managing conflict, collaborative problem solving, diversity awareness, team building, nonviolence and anger management trainings; design and skilled facilitation for individuals, groups and organizations.
