Title: Case/Program Manager*
Program: Monroe County Mediation Programs
Supervisor: Director, Monroe County
Status: Non-exempt, Full-Time (35 Hours/Week)
Location: Monroe County Courthouse, Rochester, New York
Salary: $21.00 - $22.00 per hour, based on mediation experience

 

General Responsibilities:
Under the direct supervision of the Director of Monroe County and in conformance with the policies and procedures established by the Board of Directors, the Case/Program Manager carries out the daily tasks associated with the case management of their County’s alternative dispute resolution (ADR) programs.
Essential Job Functions:
•Conducts intakes, schedules mediations and prepares hearing notices and agreements;
•Maintains documentation on all cases include opening and closing files;
•Completes Caseload Manager (CLM) recordkeeping;
•Reviews files for completeness before and after mediations;
•Completes statistical information for reports;
•Provides follow-up to referral sources;
•Assists in the scheduling, debriefing and supervision of Volunteer mediators assigned to the program;
•Maintains an effective working relationship with Court personnel;
•Assists in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual activity reports;
•Serves as a resource for mediators by identifying potential concerns as well as support services and resources available;
•Assist with outreach efforts and in-Service training as needed;
•Mediates cases when necessary;
•Attends and participates in Center for Dispute Settlement staff meetings and activities.

Requirements:
•Ability to work effectively with clients in various stages of conflict;
•Strong organizational and time management abilities with ability to work independently;
•Ability to work with individuals from all socio-economic backgrounds;
•Proven ability to exercise confidentiality;
•Ability to interview and make assessments;
•Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing;
•Initiative, tact, integrity and a commitment to peaceful conflict resolution through mediation;
•Knowledge of Windows, Excel and basic computer technology;

Education:
•Graduation from a recognized college or university with an Associates Degree in the field of Human Services, Social Science or Criminal Justice, plus two years of work experience in a related field; or
•Any equivalent combination of work experience and education sufficient to indicate ability to perform the job.
