Rochester Lilac Festival 2019

It is crazy to think that it’s already the time of year when festivals take over the Rochester, NY area. From Friday, May 10th - Sunday, May 19th the Rochester Lilac Festival will be in full bloom. With countless vendors and entertainment here, is a first-hand look at what you won’t want to miss.

Art

Calling all artists! Art in the Park takes place along Reservoir Avenue, a shaded street adjacent to the lilac gardens and the main festival site. Booths are set up on the curb back across the sidewalk, leaving the street open for shoppers. The street is closed to traffic during the festival hours of 10-6 on Saturday and 10-5 on Sunday and open to artists only during set-up and tear-down. Shoppers may access Art in the Park on paths through the lilacs or the shuttle stop at the end of the show.

Music

Aside from the beautiful scenery of the lilacs, most guests come for the live musical entertainment. There are some big names on the list this year such as Zac Brown Tribute Band, Danielle Ponder & The Tomorrow People, Big Something and many more.

Food & Drinks

When it comes to food and drinks, the Lilac Festival does not disappoint. From the four places every visitor should know, to the Craft Beer Expo tent you will have to take a look.

Needless to say, there is no lack of activities and the ones we’ve talked about are only a few. Gather the family to run one of the Lilac Races this year or even attend the Lilac Parade. The Rochester Lilac Festival has been a tradition since 1898 and is still going strong. It helps grow and bring our community together and that is something that we at the Center for Dispute Settlement strongly believe in.
