Spring Cleaning for Your Soul

Friday, February 16, 2018 - 3:15pm

Winter is still slowly chugging along day by day, and with the cold weather, it makes it hard not to dream about the warm springtime sun to come. The phrase spring cleaning means, “A thorough cleaning of a house or room, typically undertaken in spring.” Imagine this, what if instead of cleaning your apartment or house this spring, try “cleaning” your soul. How does one “spring clean” your soul? Here is some insight on how to dust off your spirit this spring and slingshot into an amazing summer, fall and even the next years to come.

Forget Old Attitudes

It’s very easy to get stuck in a routine. Then one day you take a step back and decide you need to make a change. Well, that day is coming soon! Take a deep breath and refresh those bad attitudes or emotions you might have had, and restart. Yes, we all have ups and downs but check out these suggestions on how to maintain a positive attitude.

Scrub Out Negative Thoughts

Letting go of negative feelings can be hard sometimes, but the best choice is to always let them go. Set the emotion-free and let your anger and worries go away. The best way is your own way. Everyone is different, maybe writing it down, going on a long peaceful walk, or maybe talking with a professional mediator is the best fit. Do whatever will be meaningful to you, something that you can remember and return to.

Take Time to Rest

Getting caught up in daily life is so easy to do. With deadlines, due dates, family, friends, money, health it’s needless to say there is a lot to worry about. Although with adrenaline and nerves it’s easy to get things done, it is important to give your body rest. Sleeping eight hours a night is a good start. If there isn’t enough time for eight hours try things like meditation. Check here for more ideas on how to rest, and how it can change your life.

There are many ways to let the seasons change affect the way you live. Just breathe, rest, and mend grudges with people you want to resolve with. Get inspired by your world and community and spring clean your soul this year!
