Ways to Volunteer in Rochester

Friday, May 4, 2018 - 10:45am

Thinking about volunteering but don’t know where to start? The wonderful city of Rochester has a world of opportunities when it comes to volunteering. Being a volunteer has many benefits not only for the individual but the community as well. At the Center for Dispute Settlement, we feel that helping to make our city better is huge! Here are just a few of the many ways to give back to the community in a meaningful way.

Americorp

The Center for Dispute Settlement strongly supports Americorp. Americorp is,”a network of national service programs, made up of three primary programs that each take a different approach to improving lives and fostering civic engagement. Members commit their time to address critical community needs like increasing academic achievement, mentoring youth, fighting poverty, sustaining national parks, preparing for disasters, and more.” With one organization giving back so much to the community, why not get involved and help. Find out more ways that you can become an Americorp volunteer.

United Way

When people say bigger is better, this remains true for the United Way of Greater Rochester, Day of Caring event May 10th. Day of Caring is the largest volunteer event in the Greater Rochester area. On this amazing day, thousands of people will plant, paint and help give back to the community. It’s not too late to participate in this great cause!

Endless Opportunities

If we were to list all the amazing way to give back to the community the list would never end. From helping with animals and our cities homeless to working in local schools and summer camps. No matter your age it is never the wrong time to help grow your community. Find the best fit for you and help make a difference today!
