What do CMSC Members Do?

CMSC members strengthen local partnerships between schools and Community Dispute Resolution Centers (CDRCs) to improve outcomes for youth. Members provide MEDIATION, RESTORATIVE CIRCLES, and CONFLICT COACHING services for students and staff and provide presenta-tions about services to the school community.

Benefits for Members:

  • $604 bi-weekly living allowance for full time (maximum of $15,100 for a 50 week service term)
  • Education award of up to $6,195 upon successful completion of service
  • New York State Dispute Resolution Association membership & benefits
  • Mediation apprenticeship leading to status as a certified volunteer mediator
  • Access to high quality educational opportunities, including training in mediation, restorative circles, conflict coaching & more!
  • Professional mentoring with CMSC Alumni and other practitioners from around the state
  • Support from CDS staff and former AmeriCorps members.
  • Qualifying health care coverage.

School based placements available at: Canandaigua Middle School, Geneseo Central, School Geneva High School
