CDS participated in Police/ Community summit in Irondequoit

On Monday, September 17th, the Irondequoit Police Department held a Police Community Relations Forum at the beautiful Irondequoit Public Library. This forum included workshops based off of the 6 Pillars from The President's Task Force on 21st Century Policing: Building Trust and Legitimacy, Policy and Oversight, Technology and Social Media, Community Policing and Crime Reduction, Training and Education and Wellness and Safety. The participants were able to attend two break out sessions where facilitators led group discussions. These discussion were later summarized and reported out to participants at the end. This forum was inspired by The Greater Rochester Regional Community Relations Summit which has held four summits over the last few years and continues to work towards strengthening relationships between the police and the communities they serve.
